What is Mercedes-Benz Adaptive Highbeam Assist?
What is Adaptive Highbeam Assist?
The Mercedes-Benz Adaptive Highbeam Assist can automatically activate the high beams when camera technology detects there are no vehicles within range ahead of you. The system ensures that you have better lighting in every situation on the road.
How does Adapative Highbeam Assist work?
To use Adaptive Highbeam Assist in your Mercedes, set the rotary light switch to "Auto" and activate the assistant using the control lever on the steering wheel. The camera system registers oncoming vehicles and vehicles in front, provided they are themselves using their lighting system. At speeds greater than 19 mph and if no other road users are detected, high beam will switch on automatically. The system will switch to low beam when you are driving at speeds below 16 mph, if other road users are detected, or if there is sufficient street lighting.

Detection may also be restricted in poor visibility due to weather conditions and/or if there is dirt on the sensors or the sensors are obscured. You are responsible for adjusting the vehicle's lighting to the prevailing light, visibility and traffic conditions.
